London Seminar - Illegality and Dishonesty in Claims
Title: “Hoist by their own petard? The impact of recent developments in the law relating to illegality, ex turpi causa and Claimants' dishonesty”
Speaker: Suzanne Chalmers, Crown Office Chambers
You should determine how this fits into your individual CPD plan, but the following is a suggestion from PIBA:
Learning objective for CPD plans: to gain an understanding of claims involving defences of illegality, dishonesty and ex turpi – setting out the legal framework and critically examining recent case law from the perspective of claimant and defendant
Learning rationale: to enable attendees to improve their understanding of the various defences available in personal injury claims and litigation. To add to their knowledge of this area, and update their knowledge of the recent law and consider how it might impact on claims, claim handling, pleading, evidence gathering, assessment analysis and claim resolution
1hr seminar, which will be followed by light refreshments.
Free to PIBA members and their pupils. No need to book.
