2020 PIBA AGM

The 2020 PIBA AGM will take place at 4.30pm on Monday 6 April 2020

Venue: Online! Instructions for Joining and Participating are set out below

Relevant docs for the AGM be found here

Joining the AGM

The AGM will be conducted on Microsoft Teams.  This can be downloaded for free, or simply used in a web browser.   We would suggest that you download or trial it in advance of the AGM beginning, as it can take a few minutes to set up for the first time.

You do not need a subscription to Teams to be able to participate in the AGM.  Many of you may find that you already have a subscription in any event as part of your Office 365 package.  Those who already use it report that it doesn’t work as well on an iPad or phone (although can be used with them), so we would recommend using a computer.  Some have also struggled using a Remote Desktop connection so I suggest avoiding a RDP.  There have also been a few problems with Microsoft Edge which can be resolved by using a different browser.

The link to the AGM is hereClick the link and you should be given the option to join the AGM in Teams or in a web browser.

In case you have a problem, the full link to the AGM is https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_MmM5YzYwMGYtYmJkMC00MWFlLTkxNGItOTQ2YWZkNmJlNGM5%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%228f4f3813-7593-4107-9eac-dff34c0a595f%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22b9d76e68-40d9-462d-bdb4-f33f579b05e4%22%7d

Participating in the AGM

When you are in the meeting you will find a bar across the bottom of the page which includes the telephone symbol for ending the call. There is a logo of people – if you click on it you should see the list of participants appear on the RHS of the screen. Normally Teams will show the picture of the last 4 people who speak. However you can ‘pin’ any person so that they appear on the screen all the time. We recommend that you consider pinning Darryl Allen QC, Steven Snowden QC, Nigel Spencer Ley and Richard Wilkinson at various points during the AGM.

We will be asking for “nay” votes using the chat function with the balance of votes being “yae” votes.

Please ensure that your mic is muted unless you are speaking.

We hope that this will be an interactive meeting and that you will participate. It will be good for all members to see others present and to share current experiences.
