PIBA Annual Conference 2026

We are very happy to announce that the next PIBA Annual Conference will take place Keble College, Oxford on 20-22 March 2026.

Early Bird Bookings are now open! If you are booking as an individual please see below for prices and booking rules, including an early bird discount.  If you are booking as a group then there is a further early bird group discount available here.  Book by 16 January 2026 to get the early bird discounts. 

The 2026 Annual Conference is planned to assist you with your personal CPD plan, 'reflection' and achievements.  It is also a wonderful chance to catch up with other members of the PI Bar. 

The programme is packed with topics which will be delivered in a variety of sessions, including those specifically aimed at senior / junior levels of call. 

Topics include:

• The Rehab Code – is it fit for purpose?
• Masterclasses in: Neuroradiology, Psychiatry and Peripheral nerve injuries
• Causation and disease – where are we now?
• Public Authority Liability 
• The legislative process and how laws are made 
• Getting the most from fixed costs
• Practice management in early years
• Practical advice for Silk applications
• Junior Town Hall
• A View from the Bench
• Equality Diversity and Inclusion at the PI Bar
• And an interactive session with Jacob Levy KC for experienced practitioners 

Alongside the talks there will also be advocacy and schedules workshops again for juniors under 10 years call. Further details on the specifics of these sessions will be provided in due course. 

We will be running another mini mentoring scheme on the Saturday night, with no lasting commitment other than a 15 minute conversation over drinks, if you want to opt out please do say so when booking. 

Please note that there will be NO PARKING at Keble College.  If you have any accessibility requirements please indicate so on the booking form.

Booking and Prices

We are allowing group bookings and individual bookings from the very start. 

Ticket prices have had to increase given the level of inflation - but the Annual Conference is still excellent value for what's on offer.

Basic prices are as follows:

That price includes an electronic bundle which will be sent to you before the event. If you require a paper bundle, there is an additional charge of £20 per person.Discounted group bookings must use the booking form which you can find here. The rules for those bookings are set out on the form.

If you're interested in attending the conference but are struggling to make the whole event due to childcare or other caring commitments, please do get in touch as there are a limited number of day rate tickets available. We want to ensure that the event is as accessible as possible so please email Jo Davies. If a family room or child-friendly activities would assist, please also get in touch as this is something we are considering.

Please also note that call is by year at the date of booking, not by month within the year (in the same way that we all advertise ourselves as called in a particular year, not a particular month!). We work on a membership year, so 'Under 3 Years' call is call in or after 2023 etc.
