PIBA Annual Conference 2025

We are very happy to announce that the next PIBA Annual Conference will take place on 21-23 March 2025.

Please note that the event will take place at Keble College, Oxford.

The Conference

The 2025 Annual Conference is planned to assist you with your personal CPD plan, 'reflection' and achievements.  It is also a wonderful chance to catch up with other members of the PI Bar.

The programme is packed with topics which will be delivered in a variety of sessions, including those specifically aimed at senior / junior levels of call.

Topics include:

• Cycle helmets and contributory negligence
• Validity tests and credibility opinions
• Appeals advocacy
• Paediatric SCI
• Surveillance for juniors
• Catastrophic injuries involving children
• Amputation claims from both sides
• Exploring vicarious trauma at the PI Bar

• Introduction to pension loss
• Bar Mutual and Insurance
• Capacity
• Advanced drafting – including Peters undertaking and reverse indemnities

Alongside the talks there will also be advocacy workshops for juniors under 10 years call on cross examination of experts and schedules workshops for juniors under 10 years call.

We will be running another mini mentoring scheme on the Saturday night, with no lasting commitment other than a 15 minute conversation over drinks, if you want to opt out please do say so when booking.

Please note that there will be NO PARKING at Keble College.
